Today's feature is a masterwork of a necklace [show below] in all the shades of the sun, a compound pendant for dawn, midday, and sunset.

We have three pairs of traditional concha earrings that suit all three sun spirits.

The beads were all hand-selected to match: moonstone in gray/peach, white, and black; sunstone and fire agate; cloud jasper, bloodstone, and Kambaba jaspers; gold and cherry amber; Indonesian silver.

All three cabochons are set into scalloped bezels on a single organic backing, lightly flanged all the way around and stamped in a repeating radiant sunrise motif. It hangs from a lightly flare bail, hand milled in diagonal bands.

On the viewer's right is an oblong of bloodstone with unusual patterning. Instead of teal green with hints of blood/brick red, this is the inverse: mostly blood-red, a little dusty rose and ivory, with stippled banding in teal green, like the sunset sky.

This was sold as Dominican blue amber, a rare amber found only in the Dominican Republic. I forgot to test it before he set the stone [done with a black background and particular light, which shows the blue clearly], but we have no reason to believe that it's not what it was represented to be.

Below, on the viewer's left, is a cabochon for the dawn: an incredible specimen of agatized amber, rich translucent fire orange, the chevron-shaped white banding perfectly symmetrical.

At top is a large shield-cut specimen of Maligano jasper, soft, yet bright: shades of peach and muted flame orange starkly webbed with silvery gray and slate blue matrix, a mix of midday sun and storm. Maligano jasper is found in only one place on Earth: the lava beds of Indonesia.

This one is extraordinary, and it brings together three big, bold, utterly unique cabochons that no one would ever think of putting together . . . except Wings.
