I walked home with a child. Then he brought me back and disappeared again. I tried to get home but was trapped in a penguin exhibit I tried to call home but I had someone else’s phone. I looked for mine but found only the case. 2/2

Huge turnout at the DFL caucus in Lakeville today. I haven’t seen these numbers since Obama. They expected about 80 but 340 showed up!
My daughter reported her caucus in West Saint Paul was well attended. I guess having your community invaded by feds is a great motivator. Fuck ICE and DHS.

This is a photo of a hawk eating a squirrel he managed to catch after trying for several days. I believe this is a rough legged hawk. He is standing on the squirrel feeder. This photo is very monochromatic: fresh white snow and the brown grey of the world in winter. I built this oversized, multileveled feeder for the squirrels in my backyard to amuse my elderly cats during 2020. In the background, you can see where I broke my fence to make a gap for the red fox that lives in the area. I love my backyard.

No kings protest in Lakeville MN. The crowd lines both sides of the strip of retail in our small exurban, very red town! Lots of happy people. I am no estimator of crowd size but this is the largest demonstration I have witnessed in the area.

My husband is an equally skilled player. I took my loss pretty well. Not like the times before. I am desperate to not lose. I have lots of experience being destroyed. I was not destroyed. I made a mistake. Well 2 mistakes. I can forgive myself.

I made two mistakes yesterday while playing chess. I generally play black (defense). I am all about position and defense. Since I was offense this game, after I had completed my opening, I realized I had to take advantage of my tempo. Ouch.

The cutest gray cat in the world, sitting on a patio that is somewhat littered with debris from an oak tree. In the background, her kingdom - a verdant green yard with some pops of yellow flower to adorn her sweet little head. You can’t hear it, but the birds are complaining that she is having an afternoon lay-about.

This little thing. She powered through her hospitalization early this month and is now preparing to celebrate her 21st birthday next week! I love her so much. Gir. ❤️

This was such a cheap meal. So tasty without any seasonings. I couldn’t afford such luxury.
I actually ate lentils and rice for lunch today- left over from Monday’s dinner. Yum. Love them so much.

My recipe. (Of course I rinse the lentils and rice - I am not a monster!) Take a handful of lentils cover with water simmer for 20-25 min until tender. Add a handful of rice then just cover with water. Simmer 20-25 min until rice is done. While all that happens - brown a sliced onion in butter.

Along this line of thinking. My daughter told me her children (both teens) recently ate dinner at a friend’s home. Upon returning they gasped “I know grandma’s cooking is great but we ate the most delicious lentils and rice!” 😂🤣

I switched to a low salt diet a couple weeks ago. It wasn’t as bad as I expected. I cook everything from scratch anyways - so swapping to low or no salt canned tomatoes and broth did the trick. I am so proud of myself but now hypotensive. #shakesfist

Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Oakdale, MN treated our cat like royalty. They nursed her back to health from a kidney infection. It was pretty damaging to her but considering she is turning 21 next month we call it a win. She is the best cat in the world. I love her so much! #Gir #AERC 🥰 ❤️
