We're delighted to announce an agreement with @irelibrary.bsky.social, which gives researchers, staff and students at 18 participating IReL member institutions access to our complete collection of #journals and allows affiliated authors to publish their research #OA in our journals at no extra cost.

Schließlich soll die Zeitschrift eine bibliotheksspezifische Perspektive auf gesellschaftliche Debatten bieten (aktuell etwa #Demokratieförderung oder die #Aufarbeitung der kolonialen Kontexte von Sammlungsgut).

Dazu kommen auch spezifischere Bereiche aus dem bibliothekarischen Umfeld wie #Openness & #OpenScience, Bibliothek als physischer und sozialer Ort & #Lernraum oder die Vermittlung von Informations- und Medienpraxis.

Die Zeitschrift behandelt daher Querschnittsthemen wie Management (z.B. #Personalentwicklung, Prozessgestaltung, #Agilität/ #NewWork, Führung), Nachhaltigkeit oder #Benutzungsforschung, die für alle Gedächtnisinstitutionen von Belang sind.

Mit dieser Fokussierung soll zugleich das Selbstverständnis des Bibliotheksdienstes in seiner doppelten Bedeutung als Dienstleistung für alle in der #Bibliothek und angrenzenden #Gedächtniseinrichtungen tätigen Personen und gleichermaßen als Produkt jener Community geschärft werden.

Der neue Bibliotheksdienst steht für den Blick in die und aus den „Maschinenräumen“ der Bibliotheken und anderer Gedächtnisinstitutionen. Es ist eine Zeitschrift von Praktiker*innen für Praktiker*innen über alle Statusgruppen hinweg. #libsky #bibliothek
