Scientists criticize ‘straw man’ arguments in Bill Gates climate memo
Tech billionaire relying on ‘false binary’ with call to focus less on emissions and more on aid for poor, experts say
“The memo from a ‘very influential person who controls a lot of money’ hinges on ‘inarguably a false binary’ between a world where everything is fine and ‘literally the end of the world,’ said @weatherwest.bsky.social, a climate scientist at UC ANR.”

Yes climate breakdown means more turbulence for flyers.
It’s also on track to heat the planet by 4C+ this century, kill billions of people & collapse our civilization.
Keep on seeing the deadliest crisis our species has ever faced framed as some minor consumerist inconvenience.

Oil burning autos waste ~"80% of the energy that gets pumped into their gas tanks."
