If the deduction about Miyazaki not wanting a 3rd party remake of Bloodborne is real, I'm honestly kinda relieved. I much rather have badly running original with a slim chance of patch/remaster than a game made by other people deconstructing the work by looking at it.

The nail in the coffin is how it feels like I'm juggling virtual currencies and time limited menu items and all this UI meta slop instead of smelling the air, admiring the sunrise and howdy partnering passerbys in the brilliant single player mode

It feels like a freeball. Let players fish, hunt, collect bounties like in single player, but this time with a friend. Yet somehow they found a way to lock everything behind two different currencies that are both plenty hard to collect, and a rank system that makes everything an exp hunt

The two words I'd use to describe Red Dead Online after a few hours of play are "unforced error". You already have this beaufiful land full of interesting stuff to roam around with a friend until you realize the fishing rod is locked until rank 14 and costs thirty of year 1899 US dollars
