Caffeinated 13/10. Unfiltered 9/10. F’s left to give 3/10. GovTech, CivicTech, product mgmt, dev, Agile, neuroscience, aspirational gardening (you work, I drink tea). And cats.

25.09.2025 18:54 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hi, folks.
Everybody, I just put a meeting with your manager and HR on your calendar to come to this meeting offsite from your normal workplace that we’re not telling anyone anything about. Don’t forget to bring your company tank keys and door badges!
Thanks - Connie in HR
And I have code switched or masked or whatever so long that I have difficulty differentiating inner vs outer.
24.09.2025 18:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A senior woman in STEM I know said she was told when she started working to never smile at work so she’d be taken seriously. She indeed trained herself. I have not worked with her directly but have never seen her smile in any other professional context. Not RBF either, just 100% neutral.
24.09.2025 18:06 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0That’s awesome. We need people who push us to push past and excel, who push us to be ourselves, and best of all, to know when to do which or to do nothing at all.
18.09.2025 18:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’m so sorry this is happening to you. My cheerfulness bucket is long-empty, but I’ll share sitting on it under the bridge with me.
18.09.2025 18:52 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0sorry to share this again, at least this week I'll get (half) a paycheck and then in two more weeks things should start leveling out a little.
17.09.2025 22:46 — 👍 0 🔁 3 💬 0 📌 0Your brain is also being gas-lit by society saying you must always be accomplishing ever more with ever less, but eventually those two lines diverge far enough to be unmanageable.
15.09.2025 20:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Haha well, that explains it. Normally malls are where the public goes.
I’m sorry they treated you poorly. That’s unfair and unfortunate.
Were you nude and juggling chainsaws and flaming rubber chickens while filming the mall? Did they give you a reason?
23.06.2025 03:48 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hard same. I’m sorry, friend, that things are tough for you.
10.06.2025 18:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Fingers crossed for the best outcome possible. Scary times indeed.

03.04.2025 16:28 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I dread a return to the 70s stagflation. Even as a kid I remember all the adults being constantly anxious even with good jobs. Everything was rationed at our house.

03.04.2025 16:20 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Devastating timing. A loved one retired just before 2008 recession & never recovered financially. I never believed Soc Sec would last until I retired, but I’d hoped would last for my parents. Glad Forbes just named this year’s billionaires so we know on whose lawns to sleep when we lose our homes.
03.04.2025 16:16 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I already bought local when possible & avoided cheap stuff like SHEIN & Temu. W/ tariffs, now I ain’t buying nothing not mission critical, ain’t buying American, just ain’t buying. My wallet is now frozen in ice under the penguins on that empty tariff island.
03.04.2025 16:06 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Zero news in my area on DOGE elimination of federal Low Energy Income Assistance Program (LIEAP). So many elderly folks cannot afford winter heat without it. News, however, has kept us updated on a motorcyclist going 102 mph & got a $560 fine, who other than being an idiot harmed no one.
03.04.2025 15:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Have you tried applying a tariff? Everyone’s saying the same thing about this genius trick.

10.03.2025 13:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Shame the yard crew who started work with their loud af gas-powered gear before dawn today didn’t have a wood chipper with them. Would have made cleaning up their bodies easier.
10.03.2025 13:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0By the way if you live in a US state with filial laws and your parents need care, you could be financially responsible.
02.03.2025 18:13 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I did not expect to see Soc Sec for me, but was expecting the caregivee to get what they put in. Medicare too. If SSA, Medicaid & Medicare disappear, care facilities will close or be private pay only. Where will old, ill people go? Meds will stop too, so will probably die awfully & save Elon money.
