when i was a baby teacher (>4 yrs) in Milwaukee PS, Scott Walker became Gov of WI in Jan 2011. one month later every single mentor teacher i loved & cared about was @ the WI state capitol in Madison.

our legislators, like @chrisjlarson.bsky.social, fled to Illinois to protect us, working class ppl.

my former principal, now an MPS associate superintendent, who i respect immensely, always told me not to surround myself w/ ppl who only affirm me.

i am so grateful for this advice.
