Meet Ann, another member of our intrepid steering committee.

Ann Reisner joined Champaign County Indivisible because it is the loudest voice in town and the best positioned to pressure politicians to act. Her basic roles are co-volunteer coordinator, media work, and helping out as needed.

That’s a version of the statement I had not yet seem at breakfast. In particular, I saw their individual statement by way of social media this morning, echoed by most of the Chicagoland delegation.

Pam Bondi admits she spoke to Apple to "get the ICEBlock app taken down." Sounds an awful lot like coercion to suppress disfavored speech to me. A clear violation of the 1st Amendment.

Please, God, may there be a ceasefire agreement soon, and may it be the beginning of a new, more whole future for everyone in the region.

May new leadership rise that eschews slaughter and helps to chart a new course.

May there be repentance and repair, insofar as it may ever be possible.

Human rights are not conditional.

Human safety should not be conditional.

The ability of human beings to exist in conditions that permit their flourishing should not be conditional.

Mourning those murdered by Hamas isn't incompatible with mourning those murdered by the Israeli state.

Demanding that the hostages return isn't incompatible with naming & demanding an end to genocide.

Naming the power imbalance & impact thereof doesn't desecrate those murdered two years ago today.

We were at the American Library Association Conference this summer talking with librarians about the importance of everyone having access to books that represent all kinds of different backgrounds and experiences.

Trump ordering National Guard troops into Illinois is a dangerous, authoritarian move meant to threaten us for being a welcoming state. We will not be intimidated. The only emergency crisis in Chicago is Trump’s invasion and assault on our communities.

Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Chicago is an abuse of power that undermines our democracy.

I joined @durbin.senate.gov, @duckworth.senate.gov, and Democratic members of the IL delegation to demand Trump immediately rescind his order to deploy National Guard troops to Chicago.
