The most persistent delusion is that Ru can be satisfied w a partial win in Ukr (territory and/or forced Ukr neutrality) and then cooperation can restart. Ru wants the West’s destruction. It’s not powerful enough to achieve it but it won’t stop trying if the West were to become more accommodating.

Is it an apologetic book for and from your previous one?

The previous one was a super flaw and you couldn't grasp terms as degrowth and equity.

No one can stop SpaceX and its owner Elon Musk. I don't say this with pride, on the contrary it worries me massively that they will get away with damaging the environment and 'invading' Mexico territory without any repercussions whatsoever.

I wonder if the guys in the 70s/80s/90s who moved production to China regret itβ€”they dug their own grave. They didn’t just outsource factories but handed over strategic power. China’s totalitarian system turns economic gains into a long-term vision no democracy can match.

I remember reading a post from a researcher that shared her preprint on the use of AI, hidden prompts and review. Her comment, in the post, was that her article was not yet through peer review but the results were very interesting and she needed to move to her next article. This was 3 weeks ago max.

This is the MAGA/Trump mentality:

Stop collecting #climate data and doing research and climate change disappears.
Eliminate disaster programs and disasters disappear.
Stop reporting disease statistics and diseases disappear.
Stop freedom to speak and dissent disappears.
Resistance isn't futile.

Whats the #technosphere? While its a major part of our planet, its not properly considered as part of the Earth system. Here we synthesize insights from social metabolism and industrial ecology research for the Human-Earth system in the #Anthropocene

Public policies haven't been able to fight the meat industry, its lobby and the hyper consumption around meat...but a tick species might be the 'solution' and doom of the industry.

Crazy unintended consequences.

Meat allergy.

In the midst of a brutal heat wave, NYC chooses between Andrew Cuomo, who lied about causing vulnerable seniors to die in nursing homes, and Zohran Mamdani, who’s dedicated to to making NYC affordable and green for everyone.

This is what 21st century climate elections actually look like.

Does anybody have a database of emails from University libraries and research centres worldwide? I am collecting data on publications and fees.

Speculation but:

He is free now, giving massive interviews with the media that never reports properly on the shitty stuff that Trump does. While I don't doubt his, candidate, good faith actions. It's very convenient that the NYT ranked him #1, he got detained and now is out. Big marketing.

Dear Senator Ernst, A LETTER FROM THE TOOTH FAIRY

β€œGlad I didn’t have to bring up the Tooth Fairy,” you said, standing in a f-ing cemetery, wearing your Sunday smug, smirking like you just solved poverty by smothering it with a pillow. I stopped mid-wingbeat. A bicuspid fell out of my sack. A raccoon stared at me. We both whispered, what the fuck?”

That's quite good! Thanks for sharing :)

At first glance I thought exactly on the example they gave: phone books take a long time to burn.

It reminded me of a Dutch company using coconut straw as a building material. Very fire and humidity resistant.

I am concerned(?), maybe more curious about the fire hazard risk, the thickness of the walls (are current homes/buildings fit for it?), the risk for fungus growth. I am not questioning the solution, to be clear. I want to have a full overview.

Me too! I have seen it a lot. OpenAlex has a serious problem indexing book reviews as the actual references of articles, including more than one book review per article.

For this specific case, I cannot find the actual content, but I certainly do not doubt it is a book review.

31.05.2025 18:42 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I have been thinking the same, but I honestly cannot find the book review (the content). If you find it somewhere, can you share the link here?

I don't want to 'target' an author for something that's not accurate and it's a metadata, scholarly problem. In specific for this piece.
