Chapman, John.; André, Peter., A map of the county of Essex from an actual survey taken in 1772, 73 & 1774 / by John Chapman & Peter André., 1785

I will never cease to be grateful that my job allows me the opportunity to work with things as beautiful as this 1785 map of Essex.

Just stop and consider the care and attention to detail here and the pleasure that the cartographer must (surely?) have felt in a job well done...

Wrapping up another RootsTech. Great conversations, great people, and plenty of genealogy inspiration. If you’ve never been, put it on your list for next year. #RootsTech2026

(around photos of Jeff Bezos and an Amazon employee) Jeff Bezos made $90 billion in profit... because of their hard work.

Amazon's profits went UP 45%, but its taxes went DOWN 87%.

Thanks to Trump's "Big Ugly Bill," Amazon paid just $1.2 billion in taxes (down from $9 billion last year).

Hardworking Americans are struggling, while Republicans hand massive tax breaks to the Epstein class.

So far the war on Iran has cost $9.4 billion.

That's $1 billion per day.

$41,666,667 per hour.

$11,574 per second.

Thousands of lives lost.

People don't want this. They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.

I too love the Outlander series, and the show.

The book I've not finished but am enjoying on many levels, is How the Female Body Drove 200 Million Years of Human Evolution by Cat Bohannon. Not only full of stuff I didn't know, but the best and often hilarious footnotes EVER.

Outlander book cover by Diana Gabaldon

#TheWriteWomen

In March post a book by a female author everyday.
* must be a book read
* must be a book you've enjoyed or learned something from

I’ve read (and loved) the whole Outlander series and cannot wait for the final book!

I think for now the warning notes are a good alternative.

The best protection for FSFT profiles I've found to be adding ALL the possible source docs and ensuring that they are properly linked in SourceLinker to all named in the record.

I often add other records I've found as "memories."

It’s amazing to me that one man has caused so much destruction, havoc, and unsettledness. This is on every trump voter, third party voter, and the folks who chose to stay home and not vote at all.

#TwinPeaks #LogLady Intro quote:
Complications set in. How many times have we heard: 'it's simple'. Nothing is simple. We live in a world where nothing is simple. Each day, just when we think we have a handle on things, suddenly some new element is introduced and everything is complicated once again

The cover of The Complete Persepolis by Marianne Satrapi.

Now would be a good time for anyone who wants to learn about recent Iranian history to read this. It is well worth your time and money (I am sure your local library has it if you don’t want to purchase it).

#LunarEclipse FAQ:

Q: Is it safe to look at?
A: Absolutely! Unlike a solar eclipse, there's no UNsafe time to look at a lunar eclipse.

Q: Do I need a telescope?
A: Nope! Best view is with naked eye. Just look up!

Q: Does the eclipse portend terror & doom?
A: Not at all! The news has that covered.
