I could throw in a cheekbone comment if you like, but I didn't want to be weird about it!

The media should be PRAISING these athletes who know and understand the importance of public health. These articles should be about how they are setting an example for EVERYONE. And how we should all take their lead.

Instead their positioning is: β€œlook at these fucking weirdos”

Yeah well I may not necessarily love picking up poop so I guess we're all gonna have to make some sacrifices.

I think the issue is, at least when it comes to columnists paid to have correct ideas about things, that the people changing their opinions tend to offer little to no reflection on how or why they were wrong, and even less humility when dealing with the people who were correct.

i don’t care if the victim was unemployed, or a nurse, or a drug dealer.

i don’t care whether they were armed or unarmed, β€œpeaceful” or not.

i do not accept the premise that a state has a right to uphold power over its people through violence, and neither should you.

Videos show moments in which agents killed a man in Minneapolis.

Video on social media that was verified by The New York Times shows the fatal shooting of a man by federal agents in Minneapolis on Saturday morning.

This is what the video, among several that captured the killing, shows when played frame by frame:

Several agents tussle with the man before bringing him to his knees. The man appears to resist as the agents grab his legs, push down on his back and strike him repeatedly. This video does not show what led to the episode.

The footage shows an agent approaching and grabbing at the man as the others hold him down. The agent appears to pull a gun from among the group.

Simultaneously, another agent unholsters his firearm. The agent aims at the man’s back and appears to fire one shot at close range. He then appears to continue firing at the man, who collapses.

A third agent unholsters his weapon. Both agents appear to fire additional shots at the man as he lies motionless on the ground.

In total, at least 10 shots appear to have been fired within five seconds.

The Department of Homeland Security said the episode began after a man approached Border Patrol agents with a handgun and they tried to disarm him. The Times could not confirm that based on the available videos so far.

If you don't want to watch it, here is how the NYT's liveblog is reporting on the video that first started spreading:

You can’t stop people from mass nonviolent resistance with guns nearly as effectively if those people have been conditioned for decades to accept the constant risk of gun violence whenever they go anywhere in public
