This lens shifts #SLO from corporate risk mitigation to collective #governance. The paper introduces a new framework & revisits a lithium mining case in Chile’s Atacama Desert - where conflict gave way to a negotiated agreement.

#SLO is often seen as a managerial tool to prevent community resistance. But absence of protest ≠ legitimacy. The authors propose understanding SLO as a social institution: a stable, accountable relationship between companies & local communities based on mutual expectations.

Theorizing Controversial Innovation: At the 17th #Rauischholzhausen Symposium on #EconGeo, @glueckler.bsky.social & @yaneck.bsky.social presented their work on the paradox of controversial innovation. Society wants innovation yet often rejects creative ideas. This controversy can fuel #innovation!

We were honored to accompany the UPC’s establishment during its formative period. Through expert interviews, statistical analyses, and #NetworkStudies of judicial deliberation, we uncovered key insights into institutional convergence and variation within transnational legal frameworks.

After four years of research, our project #UNIFIED has come to an end. As a French-German collaboration, it explored how social mechanisms shape the harmonization of transnational patent jurisprudence, focusing on the early institutionalization of the #UnifiedPatentCourt (UPC) in Europe. #research

The 𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧-𝗛𝘂𝗯 aims at 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 from Germany and #Chile & facilitate collab projects on #EnergyTransitions, #ResourceGovernance, & #CircularEconomies 🌱
