Nicholas Cage National Treasure Meme saying "I am going to read the Iliad again"
28.10.2025 23:02 โ ๐ 21 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Remember, Tolkien didn't start working on "The Hobbit" until he was 41 years old. It started as tales for his children that took over 4 years to complete, and he finally published it at the age of 45.
It is never too late to start working on something that truly calls to you.
Embrace your passion.

Guess it's time to journal!
i love when a brand tries to advertise white pants to me!!! What a rush to be perceived as someone who could wear those and not immediately spill half a hot dog on them

The Latin for 'and' is 'et.'
a picture of a book text. The text says "Suetonius adds that, according to some reports, he said in Greek 'Kai su, teknon' (which Shakespeare turned into the Latin 'Et tu, Brute'. It literally means 'You too, child', but what Caesar may have intended by the words isnt clear. Tempest cites 'an important article' by James Russell (1980) 'that has often been overlooked'. Russel points out that the words kai su often appear on curse tablets, and suggest that Caesar's putative last words were not 'the emotional parting declaration of a betrayed man to one he had treated like a son' but more along the lines of 'See you in hell, punk'.
Once again loving this interpretation of Caesarโs last words

I don't think I have liked a book as much as I liked Iron Widow and Heavenly Tyrant by @xiranjayzhao.bsky.social in YEARS. it's insane. I read both in 5 days. I felt like I was in my high-school speed reading era. Could not put them down. Absolute peak.

"Why do you write fantasy?"
Because the magic parts aren't the actual magic. They're just a way to connect to something deeper inside all of us.
If you donโt want to read Mary Shelleyโs Frankenstein together by lantern light in a seaside cottage during a full moon, then please donโt refer to yourself as โthe one.โ

I just The Husbands by Holly Gramazio, and this finally feels like the end of my tears-long reading slump.
I was wondering if any of you have a fun fantasy recommendation? Preferably with a wonderful evil queen?
Thank you!! And have an awesome day
Like, do I find spontaneously appearing husbands a bit of a nightmarish scenario with insane potential? Yes.
Would I also make a husband disappear for chewing too loud? Absolutely.
