01.03.2026 21:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I made it home only to belatedly die by thinking about the gambolling skull ghost, where do I claim?
01.03.2026 21:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Nice! Wasn't much of a clubber and I'd fallen out of love with the charts by then, but you have to acknowledge a banger ๐ชฉ

Did the thing!

Book launch panel for the Unquiet Guests anthology at the UK Ghost Story Festival, featuring Ally Wilkes, Dan Coxon, Alison Moore and Will Maclean

Spooky nighttime view of Derby Cathedral framing a blurry moon because my phone camera is Not Quite Top-Tier
UK Ghost Story Festival 2026 done, or at least the chunk of it I could get to this year. Another banger from the inexhaustible @alexdavis1981.bsky.social and crew.

Random thing I enjoyed today: hardback Polish copy of Mort at Eagle Books in Derby. Many will try to top the classic Kirby cover, many will fail.

21.02.2026 23:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Recently loved Cahokia Jazz by Francis Spufford. Not my usual thing (I also love Hobb and Lynch) but gives you a fascinating world with a hero you can really root for.

Paperback copy of Pagans by James Alistair Henry held up outside That Little Bookshop in Stafford, fingers crossed they didn't see me taking photos through their window because it did feel a little bit stalkery
Went to Stafford, stumbled upon That Little Bookshop, had no choice but to make my TBR pile even less surmountable.

A travel brochure open to a section about Malta, in front of which stands a bottle of Kinnie, a 'bitter orange' soft drink that looks like vinegar and tastes like purgatory
Couldn't make it to Malta but my family brought me back a gift of the national soft drink. Apparently they're very proud of it. Does it taste exotic and delightful? God, no. It tastes like Tizer seeping through an asbestos garage roof.

There was some proper club shite around in the late '90s, but if you can't appreciate the drop in Encore Une Fois then who even are you

A week in sunny Malta cancelled at the last minute to deal with water spurting out of a pipe in the kitchen and hours on the phone trying to file a home insurance claim. The vibes are atrocious. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY here's a picture of a holiday destination I hope other people are enjoying

A barren dune-colored planet is at the forefront of the image to the left and is set against a pitch black sky with a blinding sun off in the right hand corner. The Title "A Way Back" sits above it and the author name "Salena Casha" is below.
My. Novelette. Is. Live. Which means I'm freaking out because people might read it and I might die of embarrassment but also, I'm freaking out because a person might actually read it. Huge thank you to @emergejournal.bsky.social for making my dreams come true. Order your copy here: a.co/d/0b5BfkX4.
