Recently loved Cahokia Jazz by Francis Spufford. Not my usual thing (I also love Hobb and Lynch) but gives you a fascinating world with a hero you can really root for.

Couldn't make it to Malta but my family brought me back a gift of the national soft drink. Apparently they're very proud of it. Does it taste exotic and delightful? God, no. It tastes like Tizer seeping through an asbestos garage roof.
