In summary:

- This call campaign needs to last at least a month
- As many calls as possible, so bring your friends
- Make sure each call lasts as long as possible
- Each time you make a call, mention it's not the first time you've called about this

They told me they're getting a lot of complaints about this when I called, tried to push me to do an e-mail. Politely told them I would prefer to leave my complaint by phone and they took it. Easy. If you're calling Visa, hit 0 and lead by saying you'd like to file a complaint.

Call them anyway.
Ignore their directive.

Email them as well.

Flood them.
They wouldn't even be trying to redirect all of these complaints if the pressure wasn't making them uncomfortable.

This sort of overreach of a payment processor is nothing new, obviously, so it’s not like I didn’t expect this to happen. It just feels so surreal living through events like this one that I know lead to much scarier things.

What’s going on with itchio and steam makes me so afraid for the future of myself and other queer people. I miss when I was ignorant of the path we’ve been going down.

Mastercard: Sex Work is Work. End Your Unjust Policy. Mastercard's new policy unfairly targets the adult content industry, making sex workers more vulnerable, especially Black trans women. It must be stopped.

I'm sure there'll be other things that pop up (such as contacting politicians and payment processors). Still, if you're concerned about the situation with itch.io, Steam, and other sites hosting adult content, I would suggest signing this petition.

I may not post my practice since a big part of this is figuring out if I can find a process that’s both “fast” and looks good. There’s a good chance I’ll be unhappy with how these turn out.

Yeah, I should probably write what I want, when I want. I’m just getting caught up on thinking instead of doing (again :p)

I haven’t read their work, but I’ll check it out to see if it gives me any ideas for how I want it balanced in my own writing!
