Another of me from back in 2018. Basement dungeons can be chilly in winter months. That’s only because so few make it further than Dune Messiah. God Emperor is an incredible story, but it is definitely more cerebral and poetic than action / adventure. That slow burn really pays off in spades though.

I think Paul was a fantastic way of introducing readers into the universe and its concepts. The reader can identify with, and learn of its mysteries along with him. There Is no way the vast conceptual “meals” in God Emperor could be properly digested without the appetizers that preceded it.
