Him being brown is an integral part of the book and removing it is removing a part of his character, a reason for why he is the way he is. It is erasure.

It's not even an adaptation, it barely follows any of the plot. If the director wanted smut she could have just made her own story or based a movie off of an actual bodice ripper book, of which there are plenty out there, but no. She had to ruin a book about classism, racism, and abuse

I have not watched it. I refuse to watch it. I refuse to give the people who made this poor excuse of a Wuthering Heights adaptation money.
