The initial attack Russia were sanctioned for was at this time too, after the Olympics and before the Paras, and the ban was in effect by the time the Paralympics started

UCI pres. David Lappartient told @matildaprice.bsky.social in Sept that the reason Russia was suspended from competition and not Israel was because Russia started a war during the Olympic truce. So if the IOC were to apply their rules consistently, the US and Israel will now be sanctioned.

'You do what's required to deliver other guys to win' – Meet the pro cyclists who went their entire careers without a single individual victory to their name Cyclingnews talks to Sam Bewley, Tim Declercq, Valerie Demey and others about forging a place in the peloton that was about more than winning

The article that I've been researching and writing for the past few months was published on @cyclingnews.com today. Big thanks to the 6 willing pro riders that I spent many enjoyable hours interviewing. www.cyclingnews.com/pro-cycling/...

Because bait or not, it's disgusting and it should be called out. To not call it out would be to implicitly accept or normalise it

I tried to get to the meat of that answer, as well as understand the real-life experiences of riders – pro and amateur – trying to ride through these painful and difficult conditions, both physically and mentally

'A culture in which pain, fatigue and discomfort are frequently normalised' – Menstrual disorders can disrupt lives and careers, so why do we know so little about conditions like PCOS and endometriosi... More than one in 10 women suffer with a condition relating to their period, which can disrupt lives and even shorten sporting careers. So why is so little known about these conditions in performance a...

This has been a good couple of months' worth of work, because what I thought would be as simple as talking to coaches and doctors became more complicated when it turned out many people in women's cycling have very low knowledge of these conditions

Why is that?

Tbh my controversial opinion is that SafeR approved the test and proposed it to the UCI so why should they not have to contribute to the legal case? The UCI basically taking over SafeR is mad but the money meh it was their idea in the first place!

How tracking your period, heart rate and vital stats can help female cyclists with performance – and where should we still 'use our feeling first' In the first of Cyclingnews' women's health series, as health-tracking technology becomes ever-present in cycling, how are female cyclists using it to monitor their health, and is all this data actual...

We are kicking off a women's health series over on CN. This is the first, with stories on endometriosis/PCOS, osteoporosis, nutrition and RED-S in the plans. Our subscribers make these kind of things possible and I'm really looking forward to running these stories!

I think the minimum has always been 15 teams/90 riders - obviously inviting only 15 teams is slightly risky because if even one rider can't start it loses UCI points I think
