The Last Magus by Ewan Matthews Wield godly magic, plan clever schemes, and read the tarot to restore peace to the Empire!

Today's solo RPG: The Last Magus, about a wizard trying to delay the apocalypse. Some interesting ideas about using Tarot imagery for inspiration, but it all feeds into a pretty bland journaling game with very disconnected entries. Not my favourite but not terrible.

Caught in the Rain by The Ravensridge Press, Nicholas Robinia (Ravensridge) A solo TTRPG of investigative mysteries from gloomy noir to far-future sci-fi.

The weekend's solo RPG - Caught in the Rain, a detective/mystery game. It's good! Not just a collection of journal prompts, it has a strong (if somewhat fiddly) system of rolls and rules to turn those prompts into a story. Not perfect, but recommended.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
