MEC was a fantastic co-op, one bad person got in a position of power and unsustainable changes started

Eventually they became more like a regular sports store and built new stores too fast.
Couldn’t handle the new debt with economy downturn.

It started out so small, I think out of someone’s house.

I recall seeing some of these co-ops in small town Sask.
One grocery location in Ontario.

I wonder if profit sharing better or non-profit.

MEC was good, before it was run into despair. Prices were a lot cheaper than other retailers.
