Anyways I'm really stoned watching In Rainbows From The Basement and it always blows my mind how simple and technical of a song Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is.

Like...it's so simple and yet at the same time, how the fuck did Thom and Jonny even think to write that guitar part!?

But at the same time, they're the exact kind of band that it feels like most people appreciate specifically from the musician's angle.

They're by no means super "technical" and yet they're one of the most impressive and studied bands because of their perfect balance of technicality and simplicity.

But if your dad/sibling/whoever played even just the littlest bit of guitar or keyboard or anything like that, they probably fuck with Radiohead a lot.

And like...that's not to say Radiohead is the "deepest" band or whatever, that's an impression that floats around too often I think.

Like...perfect example is something like Radiohead, right? Chances are if your dad or older sibling or whoever never played music themselves, they probably have that typical normie impression that Radiohead are an "artsy fartsy" band and they probably just prefer more accessible pop/rock.

The insinuation that someone doesn't "really like music" just because they don't make music or whatever has always been a really fedora-brained take.

But I actually do think there is an extra appreciation for "deeper" music that you gain from having played guitar or something even as a hobbyist.

God damn the acting is so good in this game dude. Whoever plays the Matsumae golden boy deserves Best Performance at The Game Awards, like it's not even a competition. This is the most incredible and convincing performance I've ever seen in a game ever. Every high emotion scene he's in, man.
