This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.

I’m in a position to buy a brand new car for the first time in my life. I leased a couple new ones in my 20s but that doesn’t count. Test drove a fully loaded hybrid Honda CR-V today and kinda loved it. Just seems like such a boring car 🤔

I think so. If you look carefully at a Hudson News type of airport store they’re usually like a 5-pack of airline-branded toy vehicles. Especially if you’re in a hub terminal where one airline runs the show

I could go find a few in my parents’ storage unit from ‘90s era US airlines. My dad regularly bought toys and stuff in airports for me and my sister. Mostly Beanie Babies, but I liked planes so I’d get some airline stuff too.

Being a supervisor-level international dispatcher takes up most of my occupational brainpower. But my paper-thin understanding of airline industry economics had me laughing out loud.
