Floating through life like a leaf in a river.
Very traumatic. One of those shocking moments in literature that sticks with you
19.05.2025 14:32 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And we as a human society have to grapple with what it means to be a human in a real way. What does it mean to think, create, and learn with a tool like AI? All of this has to be negotiated and thought about.
18.02.2025 11:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And even with cars or any new tech there were ethical considerations that developed for the safety of those devices. We implemented seatbelt laws, DUI, Age restrictions, licenses, etc. I think there should be regulations that guide the ethical use of the technology and what it is used for.
18.02.2025 11:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So what happens when the machine give answers that are not correct and nobody questions it? Or people use it so much it not even people talking to each other just their AI communicating a script? The AI only communicating with AI?
18.02.2025 11:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Itโs all fun and games until she tries to build a bridge. Or tries to become a doctor. Or a lawyer. Or anything that takes critical thinking. People are complaining about learned helplessness now? Wait until all โknowledgeโ is contained in a box that you give your thinking to.
18.02.2025 11:00 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A good example is one of my students used Chat GPT on her paper on English. She put in the prompt but she was unable to understand the nuances of what she was arguing about. She understood nothing of why her analysis was flawed. Or why she even needed it.
18.02.2025 10:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I am not a Luddite. I understand technology changes and augments society. AI can be a wonderful assistant in many ways for redundant tasks, data analysis, medical surveys, treatment, but if people cannot understand why the answer could be right or wrong then it defeats the point.
18.02.2025 10:53 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So how do you know what is true? Just take the god in the machineโs word for it? As someone who is a teacher who deals with AI both as the push for it becomes overwhelming and as students are using it the problem comes in when no one questions the results or understand why the result happened.

If anyone knows of any extra-help, substitute librarian or library worker jobs (especially in the Bay Area) please kindly send them my way! (:
Iโve applied to a couple of places, but either havenโt heard back or they went with someone else.
Long live libraries! โจ๐๐
in an archival photo, WeRateDogs founder Matt Nelson, a man with curly hair wearing a long-sleeved shirt, snuggles over on a blue couch to wrap an arm around his senior German shepherd, Doug. Doug is smiling and wearing a bright pink bandana. one of his ears has a signature wonky fold. they both look excited about the project they're launching.
A few years ago we started a foundation that sponsors shelter dogs with medical needs to make them more adoptable. We have done truly incredible things with your help and we hope to continue that here on Bluesky. Please go give @15outof10.org a follow! โค๏ธโ๐ฉน

Richonne is such a good love story. Years and distance kept them apart for so long but that yearning kept them for each other. In a mediascape that makes separation and getting with someone else common place, I love they stayed loyal and in love through time and space. #richonne
