So many armchair generals out here tweeting war games & strategy (while clueless) as Israel escalates strikes across the region & the world sits at a dangerous crossroads.

Iran state media confirming at least four officials,including Revolutionary Guard Corps commander-in-chief Gen. Hossein Salami, have been killed in Israeli strikes. Reuters quoting an Israeli military source saying that Iran’s top nuclear scientists also killed.

Media outlets framing Israel’s strikes on Iran as “pre-emptive” might want to look up the word? What was being “pre-empted”? Maybe stop quotes-based reporting now that we are at this critical point in history and let’s do some journalism.

If you’re a former leader in journalism with a history of enabling problematic white men in media, shielding their bad behaviour & consistently failing Black and other JOC, I guess it would track that the first time you do stand up for someone, it had to be a white journalist. I was thinking about what @sabaeitizaz.bsky.social posted about here and she’s right. A merely two-and-a-half years later all our work is forgotten and irrelevant. I can’t deny I feel sad and angry and lied to.
