5) Nier Automata - I've bought this game on Steam, refunded it due to controller issues on my part, bought it on PS4, didn't play it again, bought it again for Switch, and well. Now my Switch has the spicy pillow bulge so now I'm waiting for the Switch 2 to come out. Yay.

2) Elden Ring (kind of) - I've booted the game up, I've run around, I've clocked 6 hours according to Steam, but to say I've "played" Elden Ring when I didn't even scratch the surface, I just really didn't click with it... Well, maybe some day I'll feel like giving it a proper fair shake.

Ate this up as a kid. Grittier and edgier than anything I had played up until that point, while not scaring the shit out of me like the horror games my mother enjoyed playing. Brutal platforming and clunky armed combat made for a memorable experience that I can't quite recapture nowadays.
5) Sonic the Fucking Hedgehog
YEAH WAY PAST COOL
I think it's the very first video game I've ever played. Came on one of SEGA's many multipack game collections, but none of the other games offered caught my love as much as this lovable blue asshole.
4) Pokemon Black & White
Oh Pokemon, that silly biggest franchise ever. I loved the anime as a kid, but the games didn't really interest me much. My case of PokeMania hadn't become terminal until the release of Gen 5. I finally understood the hype, and Lilligant became my favorite Pokemon of all.
3) Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
I'm not the biggest fan of most RPGs but there's ones that just captivate my heart and infest every wrinkle of my brain matter. This cute game about funny cartoon bugs questing for a relic said to grant eternal life? Paper Mario who? Bug Fables is the goat.
2) Kirby Super Star (+ Ultra)
I love Kirby. Like, really really love Kirby. Super Star and its DS remake might just be some of my favorite entries in the series. He's such a jolly little guy.
1) Super Mario World
Quintessential plumber platformer experience. With fun level design and unmatched control over Mario's moves compared to any other 2D entry, this game already solidified its place in my heart as my favorite of all time. Then add on the robust romhacking scene. My perfect game...
