It's a weird paradox that they're only not cheap because basically nobody wants them, so making them available in retail isn't a normal part of the industrial meat pipeline. A whole bunch of people would have to do extra work changing procedures. So they get made into hot dogs or dog food.

I can remember when I was a kid they had those for sale in the grocery store. Never had it. The idea is disgusting to me.
