Ukraine released new photos of Russia's new Product 30 cruise missile. The images show a composite (not aluminum) fuselage. It’s notable as one of the first efforts to integrate the Kometa/Comet CRPA system into a subsonic cruise missile; previously, they attempted it with the 3M14 Kalibr.

I don’t know. It’s pretty smart. R&D is largely done. It’s a cheap mass producible drone. Sometimes the west has a “nuh uh, I’m gonna start over from scratch” mentality when “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” works just fine.

It wasn’t too long ago that they were reporting problems with the drones. Possible they got worked out since then.

A Russian CRPA Comet/Kometa M4 from an Iranian Shahed-136 was used in a strike on a British airbase in Cyprus. Russia likely supplied semi-obsolete Kometa-M4 systems to Iran while shifting to Kometa-M8. From my recollection, the M8 more or less became standard on Russian Shaheds in like..early 2024?

On Feb 27, Ukraine struck the Yevpatoria Aviation Repair Plant, where Russian forces stored and serviced Forpost and Orion UAVs. Satellite images show damage to three hangars; internal impact unknown. Coordinates: 45.2181, 33.3876.

A lot of Ukrainian manufacturing is actually limited by funding and orders. Multiple reports say broad sectors of the defense industry are operating at like 50% capacity because Ukraine itself doesn’t have the money to buy enough to keep them running at 100%.

Electricity has largely been restored in Kyiv. Scheduled blackouts were eliminated in some sectors and reduced in most/all others. This was reported on March 1. The head of Desnyanskyi District Administration said that Russia is prioritizing power plants in Kyiv still, specifically TPP-6.

Russia has a new subsonic cruise missile called "Product-30" in late 2025 for Tu-95MSM and Tu-160M bombers. Range: 1500km, 800kg warhead, 600-800km/h speed, with Comet-M12 satellite navigation. Designed as a cheaper, mass-producible alternative to the X-101 to expand bomber capabilities.

Barbecue is slang for anti-drone protections. The anti-cumulative grill is the slat armor on the sides. Supposed to destroy RPG warheads without detonation.

Ukrainian armored vehicle, I believe it is a Novator, takes a hit from a Russian drone. The Russians reported it was destroyed. But it is ok. The crew is fine. A Ukrainian journalist was in the vehicle and recorded the event.

"Today in the Komi Republic [of Russia], in the city of Ukhta, the Ukhta Oil Refinery ("LUKOIL-Ukhtaneftepererabotka") caught fire. According to preliminary information, a technological installation was on fire."

💥Strike on air defense positions. Today, March 1, 2026, at around 2:30 am, an attack was carried out on the positions of the S-400 air defense system located in the village of Osinovaya Gora, Tula region. The attack was carried out using 4 strike UAVs. As a result of the attack, the 92N6A radar suffered significant damage.
