I don't think you have to be trans or have a trans family member to realize how scared so many of our trans communities members are right now. People deserve to live openly, freely, and fully themselves. Period.

You pretty quickly learn that the rule is that any space or movement that is broadly right wing is authentic, virtuous, and can claim the mantle of being American, and that any space or movement that is broadly left wing is effete, out of touch, and cannot represent a viable version of America.
