Infographic titled β€œSNAP Cuts Leave Families Hungry in Washington.” It details how cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) would impact Washington. Over 888,300 people in Washington use SNAP, including 432,400 children, 104,000 seniors, and 42,000 veterans. That’s about 1 in 9 people in the state. Nationally, more than 41 million peopleβ€”12% of the U.S. populationβ€”rely on SNAP, the nation’s first line of defense against hunger.

In Washington, 37% of recipients are in working families. Each person receives only $5.92 per day for food. Rural areas (16.5%) and small towns (16.6%) rely on SNAP even more than cities (13.6%).

SNAP has lifted an average of 38,500 peopleβ€”including 19,250 childrenβ€”out of poverty each year over the past decade in Washington. It helps people who lose jobs, face disasters, or have disabilities. Beyond reducing hunger, SNAP boosts local economies: 94Β’ of every $1 in benefits is spent at one of over 5,000 stores in Washington. Every $1 generates over $1.50 in economic activity, putting $2.9 billion at risk if cuts occur.

The program also supports broader outcomes: better student test scores, higher high school graduation rates, improved adult earnings, and better health (including reduced hospital and ER visits). The infographic warns that proposed cuts would harm families, force tax hikes, and weaken communities. It ends with a source link and a date of May 2025.

SNAP helps families ensure there’s food on the table. Cutting this program is inhumane.

My husband read every single book to my daughter aloud. Every night, they would sit in bed and spend 45 uninterrupted minutes together immersed in the world of HP.
While I will never support her again, I know that those memories are priceless for both of them and can't help but look at them fondly.

Toiletries like deodorant, shampoo, face care. Even if they are "made in the USA", I'm sure much of the ingredients and packaging are from other countries.
My daughter is moving from the dorm to her first apartment next fall, so we are trying to buy all of the furnishings now.

Completely agree. Part of the joy of wine for me is finding the hidden gems that nobody knows of yet.
Sure, I like the well-known wines that are steeped in history as well. But, for most nights? I am I pulling out wines that are from small wineries making interesting (and less expensive) wines.

This isn't surprising to me. I'm less inclined these days to buy a pricey bottle than I was 2 years ago. There are so many good bottles that don't break the bank.

Corliss makes some of my favorite wine. We barrel tasted the 2023 Syrah, it's going to be stellar. Their party is one that we never miss.
If you want to experience them at a lower price point check out their Secret Squirrel label.
