Looking back as to why I never liked RE7 and 8. Ethan Winters (in my opinion) was not a a good choice. I understand he was supposed to be an "everyman" and a blank slate to put yourself into but the franchise has a BATTALION of characters that deserve screen time like Rebecca, Sherry, Jake and more.

I think the story is great! Just got a bit fed up with some of her gameplay in sections halfway through the story 😅

While RE Requiem has been a great game so far from both Grace and Leon’s side, I am unsure if this game will have any replayability for me. Grace’s parts feel like a one and done experience. After a certain point I felt like I was dragging my feet and wanted to get it over with. I’ll try NG+ tho

Expecting praise for coming out in a saturated genre is a fools errand when your game didn't offer anything new. The first paragraph where he speaks about how people adjacent to the project praised the game, but when revealed it was downhill. Come on, we can't keep being this naive in the big 2026.

It just always has to be somebody else's fault doesn't it? People that went after devs to bash or review bombed without trying out the game are despicable, fuck them. However, to blame content creators for the game's failure is pure insanity. The game looked generic and was forgettable.

I’ll add that this game had flaws from the even the release. The art direction is abysmal and the characters were forgettable. The dev team is insanely talented but the ones to blame are the c-suite for being unable to provide a cohesive direction. Highguard wanted to be too many things.

This outcome lies on the upper management themselves. You can clearly see the developers are incredibly talented. However, you can tell the game had no cohesive direction even from the art style. The death of this game lies solely on the C-Suite.
