Yes but that included 3 years of arbitration bought out. I know it’s a ton of money but he knew it wouldn’t be impossible to get more. And now he’ll almost double that.

I would equate this to Montgomery and Hamilton if you are trying to equate this to what it would take to match from the Sox.

I think an offer of Wilyer and Garcia or Romero would be equivalent

I’m not clamoring for the move by any means but I do see an avenue where it makes this roster better

If you’re essentially trading the Yoshida money, it’s break even.

If Raffy moves to DH, you’re moving one worst defenders in the MLB to DH and replacing with someone above average.

He’s not going to have the same RH thump RH O’Neil or Teo has but he does cut down the K% and pulls the ball well.

What resources

There’s so many avenues this club can go, it’s hard to figure out until we know know which way the dominos will fall

They want to part with Gray but it wood be interesting to see how they would structure something like that.

Yoshida, Valdez & Castro

What if the move is Yoshida + for Arenado and Casas or Devers is your DH?

Gets you a quality RHH, out from Yoshida and Raffy D off 3rd.

Makes an addition of Fried a lot easier to swallow without having Devers at 3rd

Right but having him on a minor league deal puts no pressure on the 40 man spot. So if he figures it out awesome, if he doesn’t oh well

Keeping Mata is great for the organization. If he can stay healthy it would be nice to see what he can do

If somehow you sign Soto, getting Roki would be huge. Soto gives you the luxury of trading from that OF depth even more
