Game devs- I’ve never once played a game and thought “wow, I really enjoy that this game has ever-changing, unadjustable camera angles”. Please stop doing that.

EA wanted it to match DA Origins lifetime sales in 3 months.

They wanted it to get half of the sales DA Inquisition got in 6 years in 3 months.

Unrealistic expectations? More like intentional sabotage to gut BioWare for parts and get an excuse for less progressive art moving forward.

I will forever live up to my handle but I’m also so sad for the amazing people who made me this way in the first place.

I haven't been able to exactly brain what I wanna say about Dragon Age, but it's a lot. A tl;dr is probably "the game and the people involved in making it changed the trajectory of my life forever."

Apart from my favorite thing being shot in front of my eyes, what is haunting me is the state of things.

Dragon Age dying at the same time as my country rockets to fascism doesn't feel like a coincidence.

EA bought BioWare because they were first in their class for singleplayer RPGs. They wouldn't let them make RPGs their way, and split their focus between MMOs and live service games. Then they laid off a bunch of people because the company didn't meet expectations.

I wonder whose fault THAT is.

I find it kind of amusing that Bluesky's trending list includes a label for "EA Criticism" -- when, in truth, it's an incredible amount of people (including myself) all yelling "FUCK EA".

I suppose "criticism" is one way to summarize it.

Oh, also: Fuck EA.
