There's been a lot of debate within the Democratic establishment about what rhetoric to use via ICE.

Well, an incumbent doesn't lose by 48 percentage points very often—and her vote on collaborating with ICE was the defining issue here.

My takeaways after seeing the Texas voter suppression stunt tonight:

1. Democrats need to vote EARLY!

2. Try to avoid same day voting.

3. Confirm your registration now.

4. Confirm your voting location now. Reconfirm right before you vote.

5. Bring ID when you vote, just in case!!

It's wild that this take could generate enemies, but it might. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I unequivocally like Crockett better. But I also think Talarico has a *chance* to win the general in Texas. (Let's see if that chance turns into an actual victory). Maybe Jasmine would have had a chance, too, but onward.

So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:

- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.

All I can think about is Jeff Bezos saying that he slashed jobs at the Washington Post — including those of foreign correspondents in the Middle East — based on "the data," and a few weeks later a whole war breaks out in the Middle East that these laid off folks would have covered as true experts.

“Do not rely on the US government,” is the slogan of the Trump regime, where 99.9% of us are concerned anyway.

I've been diversifying away from US stocks and, well, got *hammered* today by those non-US stock ETFs. Sigh.

How have crime rates in the United States changed over the last 50 years? Both violent and property crime are far below their 1990s peak, but some crimes see periodic rises.

Looking at the 2024 crime figures, it's absolutely insane how Trump, tech billionaires, and centrist pundits fooled everyone into thinking Biden had turned the U.S. into some Hobbesian hellscape.
