Taking my own reference photos is something I dreamed of doing but honestly dreaded the hours I’d have to put in to learning something new. Now, photography is a huge part of my creative process and I could not imagine going back to drawing from someone else’s experiences. Barn Swallow 💙🧡

A Cedar Waxwing in pastels. We’re lucky to have a Saskatoon tree in the yard that attracts a lot of cool visitors like these gorgeous waxwings, Evening Grosbeaks, and Tanagers, to name a few. This one was commissioned by a private collector.
