Cheers, I've dusted off my #nocmig kit as keep hearing birds passing over after dark.

Is this @chirpity-nocmig.bsky.social software easy to use? Do you need to download anything else to work alongside it? ##nocmig

It seems in the last couple of weeks that when I go out into the garden after dark I hear various birds passing over. Lately I've heard teal, wigeon and tonight the long drawn out call of a plover. Couldn't determine if golden or ringed, so much easier in daylight #Mulbarton #vismig

I had a play with one at Cley Spy, really impressive. Wonder when they'll create one that is multi functional, record video, thermal imaging etc

Birdwatching may reshape the brain and build its buffer against ageing Expert birdwatchers have changes in their brain structure compared with novices, which probably help them better identify birds and may even protect against age-related cognitive decline

It's quite amazing that there have been 3 red flanked bluetails recorded this winter when last autumn there weren't that many records.

What came of the eider, did it survive?, has it been released?, were any tests done to establish its origins?

Last year I mainly stayed local, apart from Unst in the autumn. This is reflected in my @birdtrack.bsky.social stats. Most frequently birded site was Mulbarton, Norfolk, which I visited 423 times & recorded 61 species. The place where I recorded the most species was Strumpshaw Fen RSPB - 88 species.

Our volunteers were out and about planting a native hedgerow on a neighbouring farmers land, who very kindly gave a donation to LOHP for our help. Species included Hawthorn, Field Maple, Hazel, Guelder Rose and Blackthorn. Photo Ellie Beach

Secure the future for wildlife and people at Prince Freddy's Meadows Our vision is to restore the meandering course of the old river Little Ouse as well as enhancing the adjoining meadows, woodland and hedges for wildlife and people, on our newly acquired land in Blo' ...

It seems that the link posted on our photo of the first guided walk around Prince Freddy’s meadows in January failed to work so here it is again!

We need more donations to help us to restore the meadows and pay back our loan. Thanks to all who have donated!
