The eye can and does get infected when someone contracts Covid, and their ocular secretions carry the virus (just like nasal secretions). However, there's still no evidence that these or other fluids seed an infection in a healthy person's eye. It has to enter via their respiratory system first.

Our winter crop of greens is coming along well here in Burgundy 🇫🇷. I've always been fascinated by 4-season gardening using unheated greenhouses and crop covers, but it was nigh-on impossible in Dec, Jan, & Feb in SK. Often in Nov & Mar as well. However, we experimented a lot. Here, it's a breeze.

I really wish Covid-cautious people would stop spreading misinformation that vaccines have no effect on risk of infection or transmission; it's as bad as misinfo stating they are 100% effective.

They do drive down transmission. That was entirely the point of this study—to determine how that effect wanes and why. Each revaccination bumps up VE against infection and transmission, which is exactly why I schedule dental visits in the 2 months following a booster.

Seeing the usual Novavax vs mRNA vaccine discussions pop up on my feed. A reminder that it's a very apples-to-oranges comparison this year because Novavax hasn't been updated (JN.1) and mRNA vaccines have (LP.8.1). I switched back to Moderna for this reason. Got a couple of Novavax JN.1 last year.

Make sure it's an FFP3. Significant improvement in wearer protection over an FFP2, over the long term. I had an argument with some person on here who was downplaying mask effectiveness because she was infected while wearing an FFP2 on a bus.

I had a coworker like that too (technically, I was her quasi-supervisor, which gave her even more motive). Three years of mind games.
