A network of basolateral amygdala projection neurons contributes to stress-induced activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis A network of basolateral amygdala neurons, but not singular projections, contributes to the neuroendocrine response to stress.

New lab paper drop, this one has been a long time coming! Driven by Rob Aukema (now a postdoc with Kerry Ressler) this paper in Science Advances answered the lingering question of what role the amygdala plays in stress-induced neuroendocrine responses.

How does human amygdala circuitry develop through adolescence to support affective and cognitive control processes? Excited to share recent work from my dissertation, now out in Cell Reports, that uses longitudinal, multimodal neuroimaging at 7 Tesla to answer this question! A ๐Ÿงต tinyurl.com/5aaf9fpv

Digital Eugenics and the Extinction of Humanity | TechPolicy.Press If we are to combat the AI industryโ€™s push to build digital gods, we have to understand the ideology of the antihumanist project, writes Dr. ร‰mile P. Torres.

Thereโ€™s a reason Peter Thiel hesitated when asked in a recent interview if he โ€œwould prefer the human race to endureโ€:

Within certain tech circles, pro-extinctionism is a mainstream ideologyโ€”and some are trying to realize it.
