You make a good point. I guess with CX the race tickets are cheap enough that for some it doesn't feel too different to just going to a beer festival. The more I think about CX, the weirder it seems. Going to talk myself out of enjoying it in a minute!

Not saying I agree with it as a practise but isn't this the case in a lot of sports? The focus is very much on F&B/gambling sales because that's where the money is made. I guess in CX it's just particularly obvious because it isn't that commercially successful
