Listed ingredients include onions, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, broth, salt, thyme, and patience. The "directions" column includes the first lines of the story: "1. Start by chopping the onions. Best to get your crying finished, if you can. You’ll want to cry later, but that won’t be the right time, and it won’t help anyone - not you, not him. Two onions, then, straight from the garden. Close the window, if you’d like, not that it will do you any good: you’ll still hear the news. The king is dead! Alban killed the king!"
