If the offer is way over what the wider market is willing to pay then there is a real risk its not correct and will fall. Selling party should be checking the buyer has their facts straight to avoid this. Statement issued by Bord etc today indicated they couldn't reduce the offer to the real value.

That doesnt look good on the admins either. When the wider market was offering considerably less than that the admins should have verified how they'd got to that number. At best it was to exclude the opposition but if so, why prevent them from reducing the price later?

A player with pace and power like he had/has when he was relatively young shouldn't have been let go. Easy to say in hindsight I know but definite missed opportunity.

I think the straw of comfort is young players. Charles, Thornton, Weaver, Mcghee, Brown, Otegbayo, Moses, Fusire. If we can see them fit and improving thats all you can ask. The results are irrelevant, have been for ages.

The thing is I am not sure any coach could get a tune out of this squad at this level. However amongst it I have a nagging doubt Pedersen isnt the answer. We need a Director of Football, a set way of playing and then build a first team squad and academy all aligned to that. Its a 5 year job.

I dont think this is his decision. The club need to make money and we've had a good offer come in for someone who is 36. He doesn't need the money. He will be making more off the interest of what we've paid him over the years to be very well off, nevermind the rest.

He's always been like that towards the younger players. He famously lambasted Wildsmith vs QPR when no crowds were in during covid and you could hear every word. Not sure he's the right player to build a youth team around.
