33 here. But after being in the negatives the last week it feels like summer.

10.02.2026 01:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have actually been sent it all day lmao.
I love that so many people sent it to me or tagged me in it.
It may have also been inspiration for tonights rant ๐
You already know thatโs exactly whatโs going to happen๐ญ (I donโt even know what book this is but I can almost guarantee it)
10.02.2026 00:59 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0In my experience 9 times out of 10, whenever someone brings up Pterodactyls they are usually talking about Pteranodon.
Pterodactylus was a small pterosaur that lived in the Late Jurassic.
Pterodactyl is my prehistoric Fairydale. Which if you donโt know, is a book I loathe with my entire soul.
No, itโs not the same.
Yes it actually is that serious! And Iโm tired of pretending that itโs not.
Pterodactyl isnโt short for Pterodactylus. (also two letters?? donโt piss me off)
Pterodactyl is a made up term that most people use when they are talking about Pterosaurs in general.
๐๐
Tonightโs fact is to simply remind everyone that Pterosaurs are in fact, not dinosaurs.
And if youโve been here for a while, Iโm sure you can guess where this going.
Pterodactyls were not real.
There is no classified species known as Pterodactyl.
There is however Pterodactylus.

Having a lot of books is so fun until itโs time to clean and dust my bookshelves/books.
Iโm not even halfway done ๐ญ
This is a whole day process now.
We shall not talk about the book mail Iโm getting and how that means I will be rearranging all these shelves again soon ๐
I could honestly yap about them for hours ๐
09.02.2026 01:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I love Triceratops! They are definitely iconic dinosaurs!
09.02.2026 01:47 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Paleoart of Ankylosaurus. It is splashing around in some water and there are trees in the background.
More paleoart of Ankylosaurus. It is standing in a forest and you can see more of it armor on display.
They were also one of the last dinosaurs to evolve before the mass extinction. Which means they also lived closer in time to us than Stegosaurus.
Unfortunately we havenโt found a complete specimen yet, and have to use other ankylosaurids to fill in the gaps for us.
Anyway, I love them very much๐โโ๏ธ
See it was covered in osteoderms (thick, bony plates) that it used as defense against predators. It even had armored eyelids!!
It also had its large tail club that it would swing around with enough force to break bones!
Possibly even break a T. rex leg, which a T. rex with a bum leg = dead.
๐๐
Itโs not delivery, itโs a dinosaur fact!
Ankylosaurus, aka my personal favorite dinosaur (donโt tell the others).
They lived during the Late Cretaceous in what is now North America.
They are often called the โliving tankโ by paleontologists for how well armored it was.

08.02.2026 01:50 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 0Life construction of what Haolong dongi woukd have looked like. It has spikes of various sizes all over its body except for it tail. Itโs tail shows over lapping scales.
The extremely well preserved fossil of a juvenile Haolong dongi.
Do you have any idea how insane it is that these were on an Iguanodontian??
Now while most of its body was covered in these spikes, itโs tail had large overlapping scales on it.
And because itโs a juvenile we donโt know how big adults were, or if they kept the spikes into adulthood.
And dongi, which honors Chinese paleontologist Dong Zhiming.
It is known from a single juvenile fossil that is about about 2.4 meters (8ft) long.
Now thatโs all really cool but whats even cooler?
It was covered in all these various spikes that are distinct from both quills and feathers!!
๐๐
Gather around my little dino nuggets, we got some pretty exciting dinosaur news.
A new dinosaur has just dropped.
Haolong dongi.
It was an Iguanodontian that lived during the Early Cretaceous in what is now China.
Itโs name means comes from the word Haolong, which means โspiny dragonโ.

07.02.2026 19:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Pterodactylus is real, yes.
Pterodactyls were not real.
They are not the same.
Pterodactyl is an informal name that most people use to describe pterosaurs as a whole a lot of the time.
Itโs just a pet peeve of mine ๐
I have done many rants over this, because it IS the serious to me lmao.
I never knew I needed a fanfic of this until right now.
