Group of friends has started a Blades in the Dark campaign and I'm playing a Hound. First session was quite fun but we're still in the rules heavy portion of new RPG learning. Next session in a couple weeks, looking forward to more cult hijinks.

I've been restraining myself from using what I consider toxic units in our #MESBG group's multiplayer league (2v3s, 1200 pts each) but after one player used an Elf hate army against me twice I've acquired Crebain and will be fielding them and Grima in Army of the White Hand. Hehe ... he.

Think they came out nicely in the end but it's always a bit of a faff getting from black primer to skull white. That actually completes my 2000 pts. I've still got Celestine and Novitiates to paint to finish the backlog and Celestine is up next. Waited a long time for this one.

Sisters of Battle leader models that I've painted as a batch yesterday and the day before. Sister Superiors and others that don't fit that neatly with the colour scheme of the unit they're leading - Repentia using flesh tones and Novitiates being mostly black without the cloaks.

Been on a tear since finishing the Hospitaller, here are the Repentia, Arcos and Penitent Engine from the old combat patrol that I finished in the last couple days (except bases). I got 2 patrols 3 years ago and this is the end of them - just need to finish the Cannoness and Superior.

Finished up a Hospitaller for my Ebon Chalice yesterday and inexplicably today busted out almost 8 models of Penitents in terms of base coats and clean up. I'll probably spend tomorrow morning cleaning them up before applying washes and small bits like eyes but shouldn't be more than a few hours.

Had an interesting game on Monday as Halls of Thranduil allied with Laketown and Khazad Dum against Fell Beings of Mirkwood and Isengard. In Establish Defences, Sharku's wargs took the central objectives early and then screened against our attack, and we lost on Fortification Points by over double.

Took maybe 3 weeks of on/ off painting to get these 10 done. Used pegs as flight stands for the process, took a very long time and lost motivation partway through but overall happy with them. They looked pretty bad until finishing clean up and washes. Faces came out well.

Haven't posted here for a while. The games continue, and recently finished Sisters Zephyrim and Seraphim squads.

Have had some issues with magnets - my whole MESBG collection came off the milliput so I need to superglue 200 odd models.

Played a great #mesbg tournament on the 15th with Last Alliance and Lurtz's Scouts at 550 pts. Ended up going 3-1, quite happy with the result with very close G2 and G3.

I made an #MESBG Elves army (Eregion) 15 - 20 years ago after which I had a hiatus from the game until 2024. I got another set of Last Alliance sculpted by Davale and have finished #minipainting them up, now having around 2000 pts and 120 models.

Quite happy with it.

Finished all the basecoats on these guys today, took 5 hours or so of the evening but tomorrow should be able to wash them, finish details, and base them and the other 7 I did last week. Then I have 4 Numenorean captains to finish my #MESBG backlog. The end is in sight! Only 10 months later.

At the back right, the colour of my existing army (around 1500 pts of MESBG Rivendell Elves). Fairly close for all the corrections now which makes them blend together better, even if they aren't painted as well imo.

Colour of previous iteration - old gold with a wash and highlight, autumn / winter leaf base with flat terra earth and rim. Technically better scheme but clashed with my existing army, which I wasn't happy about ultimately so unified them.

Got back on the painting horse this afternoon, did the gold layer of my #mesbg Elves new batch and colour corrected my previous batch of Davale Elves to match my existing GW model army (latter painted 20 years ago). Was dreading correcting for a while but didn't take long in the end!

I aim to come back in October when I'll have more free time, and then will return to this platform to document my progress. I've continued my biweekly MESBG games - even went to a tournament a couple months ago! Was a lot of fun. Just dropped out of bsky fully when I stopped painting.

That was several months ago and since then I've had troubles at work and picked up side work which has eaten my time. I don't have much motivation for painting right now, and a smaller painting space since I moved flats. It all adds up to near-zero painting time since May.

It's been a rough few months hobby wise. Started on the last of my Davale Elves but realised I didn't like the previous batch because they didn't match my MESBG models (idiotic, I know). So have committed to repainting them armour. It shouldn't be too long but the new batch look ugly.

Organised an mtg draft with real packs which happened yesterday, super fun, getting some friends into the hobby. Edge of Eternities is a blast

Got round to building a Neon Kamigawa deck - blue / black ninjas - mostly with the alternate manga art, woodcut lands and foils where possible. Was a bit of soul food in a way, will probably suck as an actual deck (especially compared to the alternative, GW enchantments). Looks great though.

Been picking up mtg for edges of eternity, it's been pretty fun at a new local club. 2-2 in sealed on Friday and 3-1 today in draft - opened Tezzeret, then passed a Quantum Riddler p1p2, then a foil Riddler p1p7. Was an interesting pod. Lost to BR void drain, unfortunately misplayed a couple times.

Haven't been painting much. Started on a new batch of Elves to finish my MESBG backlog, then onto the primed 40K Sisters to finish them. My deadline is end of the year - got some repainting of existing elves to do. Moving house has eaten a lot of spare time recently but looks like it's easing up.

Magnetised all my MESBG minis just now, was very fast - around 200 minis in 3 hours using milliput and 5x2mm Nb magnets. Densely packed into 3 A4 trays, but will dispense into others for taking armies to games. #mesbg

Is ecology also information created by life or is created too active a word? Maybe precipitated?
