He truly was doing his best. Emotions were difficult for him — especially positive ones — so Candy being a safe person to feel whatever around meant the world. He noticeably relaxed in her grip.

Truth be told, simply holding him like this was doing wonders for him — and he tilted his head to place a kiss on her jaw. Soft. Barely there. But meant so much. She meant so much to him and he wanted her to know that.

His eyes slowly closed as he took in the moment. Truth be told, this was the first time he’d truly been able to relax in quite some time. Troubles with the band and then traveling with the Doctor made his stress levels way above what they needed to be

Oh— that made his cheeks bloom red. Mommy. He liked that. “No, no we don’t, mommy…” wrapping his arms around her, he pressed the side of his face into her chest

Oh my god, are you okay? *he hugs him*

“I know my love, but you don’t have to worry about it. I will always treat you that way.”

Calum smiled and held her hands, his eyes alight with the love he had for her. It radiated from him.

“I only treat you how you deserve to be treated”

The void?

“You’re a wonderful cook,” Calum told her as he finished his plate. “I’m a lucky man.”

A grin crossed his features as he spoke.

Calum ate a little faster, but only because it was so fantastic. He seemed happy. Content.

His stomach was practically growling.

“I’m ready when you are.”

Sitting at the table, Calum blushed a little more. But he looked down at his plate and grinned. The food smelled absolutely delicious.

“This looks wonderful, love.”

He blushed at the kiss to his cheek. Oh, to be in love with her. It had to be the best feeling in the world

Once she was finished and began playing everything, Calum grabbed the syrup and brought it to the table

Calum starts with getting out the bread, then the eggs, cinnamon, vanilla… soon, all the ingredients she would ever need were on the counter before them, as if he had prepared for this moment.

“Here you are, love.”

He takes her hand with a grin, and stands up.

“I know I will.”

“I have everything ye need here,” Calum said happily. “I’ve even got cinnamon, and real maple syrup”

Calum giggled. “I do love French toast.”

Although maybe cookies /were/ breakfast food.

“Maybe we can save those for Lunch?”

“That sounds like a lovely idea.” He was getting kind of hungry, so it’s funny she should say that.

And he was definitely in love with her.

“I love you too,” came the reply almost immediately. He smiled and stayed close, enjoying the feeling of her skin. “I believe you, my love.”

Calum returned the gaze with slightly misty eyes. But it was good tears. He smiled at her and held her other hand. “You’re right.”

“I always sleep well with you around,” he hummed and pressed into her touch. “Like you take all my worries away.”

“Morning, my darling,” he whispered, snuggling against her. “Sleep well? I know I did.”
