I’m using the heat pump condensation run off to water some flowers. Filled a two gallon bucket in 24 hours!

As of this evening it appears to be cordoned off. I'm thinking that banner might have appeared a bit too quickly! 🤔

I sometimes forget how strong the taste of homegrown carrots can be. I stuck four into my lunchtime one-pan-wonder lash up, and when I came to eat it the taste was basically "CARROT!" despite having a load of other fresh veggies, onions, garlic, herbs and spices in it.

If they can do nuclear fusion on the moon I'll be very happy. However I think it's just boring old fission they're planning on for this. Certainly if they're aiming for 2030 active deployment.

Just been chatting online with my brother who lives in Ontario, Canada. They've been advised to stay indoors if possible today because the air quality is very poor. This is due to drifting smoke from multiple wildfires burning hundreds or thousands of km west from them.

Location & Schedule: Held on the first Saturday of each month from March 2025 at Stratford Methodist Church, from 10 am - 1 pm. The next event is on September 6th, 2025. We've got 20mph limit on the residential roads around here. I don't remember a big hoohah when it was introduced, and nobody seems to be waving placards complaining about now. Works fine.

That's very specific because that's what one team member used as his indicator and the rest of us didn't really have anything else (<cough>or care</cough>).

You know I said an hour or so ago that I was knackered after a day at the allotment? Well I put pizza base mix in the bread machine and then before I knew what I was doing I seem to have accidentally strimmed the front drive, cleared the gutter on the road outside, cut back ivy and clean the patio.

Oh and it's too small for our standard water butt interconnect hoses and fittings - I had some of those on hand in the shed to try.

One thing I do need to find though is some suitable diameter hose (US or China sized?). I manage to split and jubilee clip some old flex hose onto the outlet barb, but it's too big for standard UK garden hoses. Ideally I'll get 3m of suitable hose and sprag a hozelock connector on the far end.

Oh, and good news on the Makita battery compatible water pump that I finally got to try out today. Not only did it pump fine with the battery attached, it also created a siphon so I could unplug the battery and it still kept pulling water out of the butt. Didn't even use one bar on the battery!
