I think it may be in part that Alisa's Cold Steel 3 portrayal being so wildly Rean-centric to the detriment of her characterization (I will die mad all her CS3 profile notes are about Rean) that it soured me on the romance entirely.

I personally preferred Laura's bonding events, or even Towa's, over Alisa's. And I didn't read Laura's bonding event as assault at all.

I liked Alisa as a CHARACTER in 4 (couldn't stand the way she was written in 3 at all), but I found the romance utterly uncompelling.

If Rean and Alisa's relationship were always written the way it is in Cold Steel 2's bonding events, I'd... well no, it still wouldn't be in my top three Rean ships BUT I wouldn't be opposed to it ever becoming canon, either.
