I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what is it is new and scary.
It'll happen to you.
I wasn't expecting to be so clearly validated for the thought I had watching the U.S. women win Hockey gold: it's easier to root for our female athletes because you can be reasonably confident that they're not MAGA.

Gorsuch's concurrence in the tariffs case is little more than him ranting about his colleagues' inconsistency on the major questions doctrine.
This is the Supreme Court. What a fucking clown.
Like, you can be shocked at the quote, or you can be shocked that CNN's mandate seems to be "Make sure there's always one bad-faith person who will excuse anything in every panel segment."

Or, now hear me out, the right has repeatedly embraced scientifically discredited positions.
Climate change. Vaccines. Evolution. And those are just the easy ones - I could list a dozen more.
Oh, also, it's not the left making lists of professors to keep an eye on. Feels relevant.
Well now I want to see examples, but I suppose you probably can't go around snapping pictures of these women's feet.

ICE βleftβ Chicago in November, but theyβve disappeared three people from my community in two days this week.
Donβt believe the hype about them, leaving Minnesota, either.
I'm still SHOCKED by the obscene rise in billionaire election spending since Citizens United in the NYT piece, despite already knowing that election corruption w/ $ was profound. (Recall that BCRA fought dangerous campaign $ in *2002*)
The article data didn't have a graph, so I made one to show it.
I'm not believing this until I hear from people in the streets of MN and neither should you

Screenshot of Elon Musk post on Ex: βElon Musk y X @elonmusk For those unaware, Space has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years. The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars. It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city. That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.β
BREAKING: βin my 24th year of my quest to settle the planet Mars, I have just been informed of a basic fact of celestial mechanics.β

Wow. That is insidious.
"Help us find lost dogs. Install an AI-connected camera to cover your neighborhood."
No way that tech could be misused by a company with a history of just handing over everything to law enforcement at the drop of a hat.
I've written about the overarching post story, causes, underlying pattern. But the failure of Lewis or Bezos to even show up, literally or figuratively, on a day of devastating cuts epitomizes the profound lack of character and accountability that is so common place today within the American elite.

Like, it's just really easy to see that I am not going to be able to keep up with the LITERAL REST OF THE WORLD in output. Even without AI.
The way people like me win is by writing memorable books that relate to the human experience.
... there are some very basic things which many people were never taught, and so they assume they're inept. I've never met anyone who was actually inept, only people who never learned those basics.
(Singing is the same, btw. Think you're tone-deaf? Probably just need some basic lessons.)
For years one of my go-to birthday gifts for friends was "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." I probably gave over a dozen copies.
The number of people I knew who were like "I can't draw, I draw like a toddler" who read that book and realized they could draw is HUGE.
Turns out ... (1/2)
For a very long time you did not need a passport to cross back and forth to Mexico and Canada. I am Gen X and El Paso folks my age remember crossing to drink in Mexico for the night and then coming back home. There are families who continued living in the same place when the border moved.

Unacceptable. This is nowhere near enough.
Schumer must go.
Cosby and Woody Allen on-screen virtues are so hard to still appreciate, IMO, because the characters they played are so tied to their public personas.
We were supposed to conflate Bill Cosby and Cliff Huxtable, but you can watch Rosemary's Baby and never think once about Roman Polanski.
ICE needs to be torn apart, root and branch, @schumer.senate.gov. You donβt reform the gestapo, you destroy it.

The Trump admin is scrambling because the secret police it sends out for kidnappings and rioting has been killing people on video then brazenly lying about it, but Schumer's instinct is to whip his caucus into taking a position *more conservative* than that held by the median voter.
He's got to go.
I've been sent video from the end of the ICE raid at the Zipps on 32nd and Shea.
It shows protesters -- on the sidewalk, impeding no one -- getting drive-by maced by an ICE agent from a truck as it rolls away down the road.
Hard to see how such tactics are justifiable.
