Actually, scratch this. I didn't realize that Thomas has more term on his contract than Trocheck and is six years younger. They will have completely separate markets.

Also, I think the Rangers should probably wait to see when/if Robert Thomas gets moved from St. Louis before pulling the trigger on a Trocheck trade. Thomas is clearly the better player and if he moves first, that could make GMs up their packages.

Yeah, it's kind of a perfect time to move on from him, though you could probably argue that after the 2024 run was a better time.

The more I look into Trocheck, the more I'm convinced that, if he is moved, Drury is moving a grenade at the right time a weird bit of good timing on his part.

I've not encountered a player be so open about their trade clause and being so publicly aware of the trade chatter. It feels like Trocheck has been waiting almost all season for this week.

Leafs might actually be...stupider than the Chris Drury-led Rangers, if this report is true.
