Some are, I've encountered some and it's documented in politics and it goes well beyond just LGBTQ issues. Sometimes (not always) those who are the most strident, especially when their argument is irrational, are hiding something about themselves.

Good point. You have to wonder about 'straights' who apparently believe that sexual attraction is so fluid and malleable. They probably wouldn't think that way if they were firm in their own orientation. You know what they say, "Those who scream the loudest..."
