No one knows ones research and its impact better than the researcher themselves. If they can't communicate that in an engaging way, I would strongly suggest they work with others who can. Artists, Advocates, SciComm specialists, or even others in ones field who can. 2

There are lots of calls from philsci and metascience for scientists to do things that will increase public trust in science- communicate more and better, do better studies, publish data and code. I think these calls are completely misguided 🧵
