The officers and committee members of the AAS gathered yesterday to celebrate Frances Lynch Llewelyn MBE, who is stepping down as our chair after 13 years. She first joined the society in 1964 and has been at the centre of our activities ever since. She will still be very much involved, though!

The final talk for the Day School is Yr Athro/Professor Marged Haycock - Draw dros y don - Cecile O'Rahilly in Wales, and the scholarly connections between Ireland and Wales, 1900-1950.

After the Day School lunch we have Dr Dafydd Gwyn - 'An unprecedented novelty and magnitude: trade and movement across Anglesey 1816-1873'.

Last before lunch at our Day School is Professor Emeritus Paul O'Leary, joining us pre-recorded - 'A Ballon, a Coffin and a Treaty: Anglesey and Ireland in the period of Union 1800-1922'
